Class. Homework. Sleep.
That has been the routine for the last 4 days. We are in the middle of an intensive class that meets everyday for a week. I've learned a lot of things...but the one I re-learn every day is that eight hours of deep thinking and discussion followed by two hours of similar reading sucks up ALL MY ENERGY. After having my heart wrecked yet again today in class, enjoying a wonderful lunch break hanging out at the apartment visiting Jenna, and finishing the day strong by finding my last four chocolate covered gummy bears at the bottom of my backpack, we finally took a break from the studious life and HUNG OUT.
We had a taste of home at the local TGI Fridays before going back to the apartment to watch a movie. While it wasn't the most adventurous Saturday night I've had since being here, it was exactly what I needed. I needed to take a long walk and vent about my thoughts and my life on the way to dinner. I needed a taste of home. I needed to remember what American french fries taste like. I needed to laugh about stupid memes. I needed to spend time cuddled up on the couch of the apartment. I needed to watch a movie without Spanish subtitles. I needed time to be...be outside the classroom, be in what I pretend to be fresh air, be in an American feeling environment, be in the apartment, be with my friends.
Good break, good company, good night.
